Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know.

Why sell everything outright instead of having an estate sale?

An estate sale takes weeks of setup, brings the public into the home for days, typically charges a 35–40% commission, and often leaves the leftovers for you to haul away.

Selling outright gives you one agreed price, payment in full before removal, no strangers in the house, and an empty home when we’re done. It’s faster, more private, and far less work for your family.

How do you decide your offer?

We look at what can be resold, then account for the real costs of doing the job right:

  • A truck and trailer, fuel, and travel to the home
  • A crew of workers, often for one or more full days
  • Dumpster rental, dump fees, and trash disposal
  • Hauling donations and recycling
  • Storage, sorting, cleaning, and the many items that sell for little or nothing

An estate sale hides these costs in its commission and in the leftovers you’re left with. We include them up front, so the number we agree on is the number you keep.

Why do I get a price range instead of one number?

Photos show a lot, but not everything. Your range is based on the photos you send. We confirm the final price at a short walk-through before anything is agreed.

What if I can’t take photos?

No problem. Without photos, a personal visit is required to establish a price. Choose “I can’t take photos” when you start, and we’ll call to schedule a time that works for you.

How quickly will I hear from you?

You’ll receive a written offer range within 72 hours of sending your photos. If we can’t price it from photos, we’ll contact you about an in-person review.

When and how am I paid?

You’re paid in full before anything is removed from the home, by business check, bank transfer, Venmo, or Zelle, whichever you prefer.

Can we take more items after we agree on a price?

Your price is based on the contents at the time of the agreement. After that, only items on your Keep List may be removed. If you’d like to keep something new, just ask us first and we’ll adjust together.

Do I need to clear anything out first?

Only what you want to keep. Make your Keep List before we agree on a price. Personal papers, photographs, and letters we find are set aside and returned to you.

What do you buy?

Entire households and individual collections: furniture, antiques, jewelry, coins, silver, tools, art, records, sports cards, model trains, and much more.

We also buy vehicles with a clear title or registration, including vintage automobiles, plus boats, ATVs, tractors, and trailers. Firearms are handled through our licensed partner. We don’t take hazardous materials such as chemicals, paint, or propane.

Who can sell the estate?

The owner, or the executor or person legally authorized to act for them. We’ll ask for that paperwork before closing.

Will strangers come through the home?

No. There’s no public sale. Only our small, insured team ever enters the home.

What happens to everything?

Items are resold, donated (with a receipt for you), or recycled. Very little ends up in a landfill.

Will the house be clean when you leave?

Yes. Empty and broom clean, ready for a realtor, a closing, or the next chapter.

Is my information private?

Yes. We never share or sell your information, there’s no public listing of your home, and we delete your photos within 90 days after your job is closed.

Where do you work?

Across Upstate New York and Vermont. Collections are welcome from anywhere in the U.S. with an insured shipping kit.
